Supporting Dementia Friends in Mid Durham
Mid Durham Area Action Partnership want to create dementia friendly communities, helping their community become a place more understanding towards those with Dementia and those who care for them.
The Mid Durham Intergenerational Project is supporting this initiative and can deliver Dementia Friends sessions to groups. The sessions are free and those who attend receive the special pin badge that shows you care. Today we delivered a session to members of Brandon and Byshottles Parish Council.
Over the next few weeks the team from Age UK County Durham will be working with young people and older people across the Mid Durham area. Each Information Session lasts around one hour and everyone can learn more about dementia and how even small actions can help to create dementia friendly communities.
